Daljit Kaur

Daljit Kaur, a self-taught artist and homemaker, kept her creativity alive while raising her family. At 73, during COVID, she devoted 6–8 hours daily to her art. As a schoolgirl, she trained under the Royal Drawing Society of London but couldn’t pursue fine arts formally. Living in rural Coal India areas, she transitioned from watercolors to oils, guided by Walter Foster books. After a 30-year pause, she shifted to painting on silk. Since 2020, her work has been displayed in two solo exhibitions at Chandigarh museums and Alliance Française, evolving toward abstract realism in landscapes.
